The Sunday School for Jewish Studies is an independent school offering a once-a-week program for children in the greater Boston area. Our school is committed to providing a Jewish education that fosters a strong sense of Jewish identity for children and families with diverse traditions of Jewish observance. We hold classes for children in kindergarten through grade seven.

On Sunday mornings during the school year, our children explore Jewish history, Hebrew, ethics and culture. Our curriculum explores tzedakah (charity), traditional celebrations and rituals, and Jewish themes in daily life. Our teachers are experienced, enthusiastic and committed educators.

As an independent school, we are not affiliated with a particular branch of Judaism. The Sunday School welcomes families who seek to enrich their Jewish learning, who embrace multiple cultures and who balance many priorities. In addition to children’s classes and celebrations, we sponsor occasional adult programs. The Sunday School is a comfortable Jewish education option for interfaith families.

We guide and support families through the process of creating a meaningful Bar/Bat Mitzvah. The Sunday School sponsors High Holiday services for our families and the extended community and offers school-based opportunities to celebrate holidays throughout the calendar.
